The Farm at Dover Vineyards
1: Chimneys and Foundation
Section Title
This is the homesite of Nannie and Aud Dover and they were the first Dovers to live on the property beginning around 1910. They were dairy farmers until the mid 1970s. The house and barn burned in the mid 1980s, leaving the foundation and chimneys. After their death, the property was managed in hay production. The vineyard was planted in 2009 by their Great Grand Daughter Elizabeth Anne and her parents. The current property is 36 acres. There are 6 acres of grapes onsite and another acre of grapes in Mt. Pleasant. The wine is currently made at Childress Vineyards under the direction of Elizabeth Anne.
